What a day! Hot Hot Hot! Discathon was at Hiestand this
morning and I can't report on it due to exhaustion. Rodney has
been putting a daily howl together and I wish I could share that
with you all. Distance was split up onto two large fields with
the Women, Senior Grandmasters, Legend, and most of the Juniors
on one field and the Masters and Juniors under 19 on another.
Lunch. MTA interrupted by major gusty wind and then
thunderstorms. After 2 hours we headed back out for rainy MTA,
followed by a brief but very fun
Dances With Wolves. Dinners of various kinds and types were
enjoyed along with some Sprecher and dark beer, a little pool,
and then the Juniors choreographed an interpretive dance routine
and performed for us Masters. Then it was our turn. After much
debate and consideration, we did a rain dance, outside, across
the big picture windows where the Juniors could look on and see
the crazy old folks and the rain fall. If you were not there, you
missed a good night.
