Alterra: FREESTYLE - The intention of freestyle is performing
creative, artistic maneuvers with a flying disc. In competition,
freestyle is played by teams of two or three players who perform
a routine to music. Routines are judged in three categories:
difficulty, artistic impression, and execution. For more about
freestyle and the Freestyle Players Association, go to:
www.freestyledisc.org. Check out cool animations and photos and
get information on tournaments and freestyle meccas at
http://www.frisbee.com - the award winning Freestyle Frisbee
Page. Sponsored by Alterra.
Flashflight: SELF CAUGHT FLIGHT- SCF combines two different field
events; Maximum Time Aloft (MTA) and Throw Run Catch (TRC). MTA
measures the time a player's throw is in the air prior to it
being caught cleanly with one hand. TRC measures the distance a
player can throw and catch (with one hand). The two events are
combined by awarding a single sum of points based on a player's
MTA and TRC performances. Most players use Fastback Frisbee discs
or light Lynx discs for these events. Sponsored by Flashflight
Discs.
MUFA: DOUBLE DISC COURT DDC is an exciting 2-on-2 team
game which combines throwing and catching skills, quickness,
strategy, and communication. Each team is responsible for
defending a
court from the attack of the opponents. The attacks are made in
two ways: by the throwing of one of two discs in play into the
opponents' court in an attempt to have the disc come to rest
within that court without ever having touched out-of-bounds, or
by causing both discs to be touched by a player or players on the
opposing team at the same time. A team scores a point whenever
they make a successful attack or whenever an opponent throws a
disc out-of-bounds. The first team to score the requisite number
of points as determined by the competitive format shall win the
game. Find out more at http://www.pellucid.com/conrad/ddc/
