New items in the 2.0 version.
Bodie Brothers learned a lot from the publication of the first run of BIRDIE! One thing they learned is that, if you did not design the game, adding/subtracting the roll modifiers can get complicated. Also, we've seen many people forget to add their extra die for being BOB (Back of the Box).
Two components have been added to address these issues. The Roll Modifier Board and the BOB Meeple. The Roll Modifier Board has places to hold each player's Tee+1/Tee-1 chips as well as the rain and wind weather cards and all of the pre-roll Karma Cards. Additionally, the BOB Meeple rests on the Tee marker of the player that is BOB so they remember to add their BOB die.
Additionally, there are now multi-modal Karma Cards. Multi-modal means that they can be used in different ways. Use them to help, or wait for ideal conditions and make it really count. These cards, along with the improved Go For It / Safe Shot chips bring a bit more strategy into the game. (Don't worry, there is still plenty of Take That in there too, just not quite as much!)
Improved Compenents in the 2.0 version
Basically, every part of the game has been improved. From the wording and graphics in the simplified and expanded rulebook to the better-looking and expanded player cards. The holes on the board are now proportional and the roll charts are tighter, letting the beauty of the course stand out even more. The tee and putting roll charts are also presented in a cleaner way and the roll chart numbers have been reversed so that they are easier to read.
